HOUSTON, TX, January 16, 2017—SHR, the innovative developer of central reservation system (CRS) software for hotels, has announced the addition of two key leadership positions at the company’s headquarters in Houston.
Chief Operating Officer, Adam Roark joins the SHR team from the audit, tax, and advisory firm Grant Thornton LLP, where he served as senior manager. Prior to that, he was senior vice president of customer support for Cardtronics, the world’s largest ATM owner/operator. A financial and operational leader with experience in high-tech and traditional businesses, Roark brings a history of building collaborative relationships with employees, co-workers, senior management, and investors, as well as a solid management track record.
“I’m honored to take on the role as SHR’s COO during this period of corporate expansion. I chose SHR because of the quality of corporate culture under its current leadership. The organization is where it is today, financially strong and facing unlimited potential, because of its people,” says Roark. “Growth is an opportunity as well as a complexity. My goal is to drive the successful operational processes that have made SHR a competitive name in the hospitality industry and ensure that the SHR brand promise not only remains but flourishes.”
Prior to his appointment with SHR, Chief Technology Officer David Samia was the Vice President of Product Development with the virtual reality technology developer Optech4D Inc. Under Samia’s direction, his team ensured that products and services were aligned with the corporate vision from concept to sunset. Before that, he served legal technology solution provider Bridgeway Software as Vice President of Product Management & Marketing; then Vice President of Product Engineering & Management. He also held several IT management positions with the global software provider BMC over an 8-year career with that company.
“As an ‘IT guy,’ I was initially drawn to SHR because of its state-of-the-art software. Now that I’m up to speed, I realize that our technology is just one element to the mission of providing intelligent service for the hospitality segment,” says Samia. “In my new role of CTO, I have the task of guaranteeing that SHR’s software development stays on the cutting edge of current technology. That’s an exciting prospect, and I look forward to working with my team to ensure all SHR’s technology decisions serve its overall business strategy and promote continued growth.”
SHR created these two new leadership positions in light of rapid company growth over the past several years, reflected in its inclusion on the Inc. 5000 list five years running; the September 2016 award of $20MM growth capital; and the October 2016 launch of a Singapore office.
CEO Rod Jimenez attributes the company’s impressive growth to its ability to tailor its solutions to the rapidly evolving needs of the hotel industry.
